Exultation

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:1-2

We rejoice! This is a term of exultation. To exult means "to leap for joy" or "to be filled with joy." In my last post I wrote about the benefits of being justified through faith.

Here, Paul is telling us that we should be leaping for joy because of God's righteousness that we have gained through Christ.

We should be the most joy-filled people on earth. It seems that none of the things of this world should matter in comparison to what we have gained through Christ. I like the song by Fernando Ortega:

If we ever REALLY "got it" what Jesus' death on the cross did for us, we would definitely be exulting.
